THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM

Once again, "Sophia for Children" in collaboration with Partners Connected Communications organized the "Elephant in the Room" Art Project, aimed at raising public awareness about issues faced by many children that society often ignores. The project called on people not to turn a blind eye to the struggles of children in need, both in Cyprus and Kenya, where "Sophia for Children" operates.

This year, elephants were crafted in Cyprus under the artistic direction of Panikos Tembriotis and were decorated by renowned Cypriot artists. For the first time, an additional elephant was decorated by groups of students from various schools across Cyprus, allowing them to actively participate in this significant event.

Each of the collectible elephants was "adopted" by a company for €5,000, a contribution that significantly supports the "Cook and Offer" program for students in Cyprus, as well as children affected by poverty in Kenya. Companies that had already registered their participation acquired their elephant through a lottery during a private event held on June 26 at the Presidential Palace, under the patronage of the First Lady, Mrs. Philippa Karsera Christodoulides.
